Read our LA Noire PS4 review to see if this re-release onto newer hardware is worth your hard-earned scratch. All the cars are licensed and the city of Los Angeles looks a lot like it did in the 40's. The City of Angels is one of the stars of L.A. Noire, and it gets the red-carpet treatment here. Released as a remaster on Xbox One and PS4 (and ported over to Nintendo Switch), L.A. Noire now stands as a far more complete package for those who might have never tried it. As with other remasters it's essentially the same game only with all DLC added and then some.
If you’ve played it already, your mileage may vary. It’s definitely no RDR or GTA, but if you like film noir, it’s a good game for a reduced price. This is the same game all over again, but might be worth re-investigating if you have a PS4 Pro just for the 4K experience. This is the same game all over again, but might be worth re-investigating if you have a PS4 Pro just for the 4K experience. The facial graphics alone are incredible and worth a play through for. Its many ambitious ideas – whether it was the detailed engine, facial capture animations, detective gameplay, and pulpy story-telling – often felt like they were held back because of sobering technical limitations. A lot of it is linear, yes, but there’s also a free roam option where you can pick up a decent amount of “street crimes” and find various collectibles. LA Noire is a great game. I agree. LA Noire is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 367. L. A. Noire is the best of the detective games, unless Obra Dinn is on switch which I don't think it is. Normally I don't let graphics deter me from a game...but L.A Noire may be the ugliest AAA game I've ever seen, even with the remaster. It includes a full 21 detective cases, ranging from your early days as a beat cop, the dirty world of Vice, and the more captivating moment in homicide. LA Noire is a weird one for me, I played it a long time ago and I remember I finished it very quickly.
L.A. Noire has been in development for at least seven years. L.A. Noire (PlayStation 3 [reviewed], Xbox 360) Developer: Team Bondi / Rockstar Games Over six years since its original release on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, Rockstar's detective adventure sees a re-release on PS4, Xbox One and Switch in its handheld debut. Some things are. It's pretty long too, got a great noir story going on throughout as well as most of the individual cases being really interesting. Not everything's worth waiting for. City is crime ridden but it still has amazing vistas and superbly lit city at night thanks to Neon Lights. Amid the post-war boom of Hollywood’s Golden Age, newly minted detective Cole Phelps embarks on a desperate search for truth in a city where everyone has something to hide. However, this "remaster" is just a blatant port. The PS4 version of Rockstar’s noir detective thriller is the definitive way to play L.A. Noire and stands as an appealing prospect for old and new wannabe sleuths alike.
