God leads every believer into the desert at one time or another. It was an assurance that God would not desert His people. But in over 30 years of pastoring, I’d say God leads most believers into the desert at one time or another. 16 Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters; 17 Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow. Thus it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones perish. In vs 6 he says, ‘the Lord your God goes before you, he will never leave you nor forsake you’ (repeated also in vs.8).
